JohnTracks is a road and civil infrastructure contractor working out of Kitengela, Kenya. We own our plant, we run our own crews, and we build to the standard the drawings ask for.
The firm
A contractor built around its own plant.
JohnTracks is a Kenya-based construction firm specializing in road and civil infrastructure. It was founded by John Waikunu and operates from a yard in Kitengela, off Namanga Road, deploying crews and machinery to sites across the country and the wider East African region.
The work spans carriageways and rural access roads, bulk earthworks and foundations, culverts, footpaths and street infrastructure, and the machinery hire that supports all of it. A job might be a single site stripped and levelled for a developer, or a road section set out, built, and handed over to a national authority's specification.
Clients include national roads authorities, private developers, and industrial firms. Whoever the client is, the sequence is the same: the work is set out properly, built to spec, and handed over ready for inspection.
How we work
Three things we do not negotiate.
Delivered to spec.
A road either meets the specification or it does not. We set out to the drawings, test what needs testing, and correct our own work before anyone else has to. When an authority inspects a section we have built, there is nothing waiting to be found.
Built by people, not subcontractors.
Our operators, gangers, and foremen are ours, and so is the plant they run. That means we can commit to a programme and hold it, because we are not waiting on a third party's availability, pricing, or standard of finish.
Answerable to the last kilometer.
We stay accountable for a section long after the plant has left it. If something settles, cracks, or drains the wrong way, the people who built it are the people who come back to it. Our name is on the work.

Founder & Director
John Waikunu founded JohnTracks and leads the firm across tendering, programme planning, and site delivery. He works out of the Kitengela yard and stays directly involved in the jobs the company takes on, from setting out through to handover.
